Easy Tips To Increase Your Car Mileage

In the days ever rising fuel prices, the fuel bills are digging deep into the pockets of a common man. I’m going to share some practices which can get you more miles out of your fuel by increasing the fuel average or fuel mileage of your car.

Tip 1: Do not accelerate too fast

Too quick acceleration consumes too much fuel, accelerate slowly and gradually. That will save quite a significant amount of fuel in city driving.

Tip 2: Do not use clutch too much

If you use a manual transmission car, as is mostly used by people in India, do-not drive with clutch pressed, or use clutch only when needed, too much use of clutch will waste a lot of fuel.

Tip 3: Change gears appropriately

This is also applicable for manual transmission cars. Use correct gears at correct speeds, this will help save the fuel. For correct speeds, see your car’s user manual.

Tip 4: No Excuses to delay car service

Get the car serviced as per manufacturer’s recommended schedule. This will ensure good health of engine, less maintenance due to break-down.

Tip 5: Do you drive in dusty environment? Clean the Air-filter

If you drive in dusty environment the air-filter gets filled with dust and makes the engine suffocated. Clean the air-filter more often than the service schedule( say every 5000 KM or so) , this will help the engine run more easy and consume less fuel. Trust me, its going to really help.

Tip 6: Red-Signal Ahead? Put the feet off the accelerator

If you are sure that you got to stop after next 100 or 200 meters due to a red signal, keep your feet off the accelerator and car will slow down on engine’s resistance, saving on fuel as well as the brake shoes, apply brakes only when about to stop. This is a great help to save that extra drop of fuel.

Tip 7: Air Pressure in tyres

Get the air-pressure in tyres up to the recommended pressure, and check it once at least in 15 days, it helps the car run smooth and drink less fuel.

Tip 8: Try to keep a constant max speed

When driving in a city or highway, try to maintain a constant speed, that will help the engine put less effort to accelerate or decelerate unnecessarily. This will help reduce fuel consumption.

Tip 9: Keep the window’s glass rolled up on highways

Driving with AC on and glasses rolled up will actually help the car move easy because when windows are open, the car faces more air-drag due to cross ventilation through car, thus consuming more fuel. So always try to keep windows rolled up specially when driving at high speeds.

Tip 10: Buy fuel during morning hours

Buying fuel during morning hours makes sense, because the fuel is a liquid and cools during night hours as temperature is low, and it becomes more dense, so in night hours, you get more weight of fuel for same litres, so its like a bargain in fuel amount

Tip 11: Re-fuel your car when tank is close to half

This will help reduce the vapors formation in tank, which moves out as you open the lid to re-fuel, thus saving some amount of fuel in the tank.

Tip 12: Clean up the crap from the boot-space

Remove any un-necessary luggage or stuff that you don’t need from back space, that will let the car feel light and run easy on less fuel.

Save fuel, burn it less, save economy and environment both, for a greener and cleaner tomorrow.

best way 2 Eject and Close CD/DVD Drive

Ejection of CD or DVD some times becomes tiring action as you need to physically press the button on the CD/DVD writer or reader to open the tray and then to close the tray also in some of the CD/DVD writer or reader.

Today, We will tell you how can you create shortcuts to eject and close the CD/DVD Tray and we will also share some FREE utilities which do the eject and close the CD/DVD Tray any time.

By Default Windows vista allows you to easily eject the CD/DVD Drive by right clicking the CD/DVD drive and select Eject in the context menu. But there is no Close Tray option to close the CD/DVD tray. But you add the option to close the tray using CloseTray.

In order to add the option Close Tray in the right click context menu follow the procedure given below.

1. Download closetray.zip and extract it.

2. Double-click closetray.reg to add it to registry.

Note: It may require restart for the settings to come into effect

If you want to create desktop shortcut to eject or close CD/DVD drive tray then there are hell lot of ways to do that.

Lets discuss all of them one by one and some other utilities for the same purpose.

There are two FREE utility which lets you create desktop shortcuts to Eject or Close CD/DVD tray. Two Programs which lets you perform some basic tasks in windows are NirCmd and Wizmo you can download NirCmd from here and download Wizmo from here

Download one of the above application mentioned above and create the following shortcuts for Closing and Ejecting of CD/DVD drive.

Follow the procedure below to create desktop shortcuts for Eject and Close the CD/DVD Tray.

1. Right Click on the empty desktop area and Select New >> Shortcut

2. You will now be prompted to type the location in the target box

With NirCmd, you will need to append the following text to the end of the path.

Michael Lau x Nike Air Crazy Force 1 “Psychiatric Ward”

Michael Lau and Nike have collaborated together to create the “Psychiatric Ward”. This is the Nike Air Crazy Force 1 sneaker and toy. The shoe uses the Air Force 1 comes as a quilted upper. It has some laser customizations. The quilted lattice is special as at joint of every square, there is an extra design, like a lock, at the joint.

The white shoe lace leads the way up to the tip of the tongue, which shows a number in gold colored paint. That is supposed to be the number of the psychiatric ward. The heel of the shoe has some stencilled lines to indicate the counting of days. Supposedly, in a psychiatric ward or prison, where there are no calendars, the inmates used the bunches of five lines to count away the days. How to Configure Gmail Account on Your Nokia

Here is the short tutorial which allows your to configure Gmail Account on N95: (IMP: You must enable POP3 access of Gmail Account. Hint:Look inside Setting and POP forwarding Options on gmail web site)

1. Open Messaging Application (Figure 1)
2. Goto Mail box. It asks you No mailbox defined. Define now? Choose Yes (figure 2)
3. Mailbox setup wizard will start. Press start to continue
4. Mailbox Type choose POP3, Press Next ( figure 3)
5. On next screen type your email address xxx@gmail.com (IMP: press the Pencil Key and highlight your email address then press Copy. This will save you typing) ( figure 4)
6. Press Next
7. Enter pop.gmail.com as Incoming mail server, Press Next ( figure 5 )
8. Enter smtp.gmail.com as Outgoing mail server, Press Next (figure 6 )
9. Access Point, choose Always ask or your preferred one. press next ( figure 7 )
10. In Mailbox name keep gmail press next ( figure
11. Click Finish
12. Click Option and then Settings
13. Choose E-mail
14. Press on Mailboxes and then on Gmail
15. Press on Connection settings
16. Press on Incoming e-mail
17. Enter Username as xxx@gmail.com (You may Press Pencil and then paste)
18. In Password type your password
19. Scroll down to security port and choose SSL/TLS
20. Press Back Button
21. Select Outgoing e-mail, Enter your username and password as described above
22. Scroll down to security port and choose SSL/TLS
23. Hit Back Button twice
24. Press on User settings
25. Enter your Name as you want to display and then go back
26. Goto Retrieval Settings
27. Click on E-mail to retrieve and change it to size limit and then enter 100KB or whatever you like in next screen. Press OK
28. Click on Back
29. If you have unlimited GPRS connection then goto Automatic retrieval and change it otherwise leave as it is.
30. Click back button multiple times so that you are back to main screen.
31. Now when you start Messaging Application you will see Gmail Account goto it and retrieve your email.
32. You can also send email attach images with it etc. Have fun

Get your orkut scraps delivered to your mobile

This article provides you with a very simple method to get orkut scraps delivered directly into your mobile phone as sms messages. The pages you may subscribe are scrapbook, community pages or even community messages. All the messages will be delivered free of cost. Following are the steps to get any orkut page as sms to mobile :

1. Register your mobile phone to MyToday. MyToday supports almost all networks in India.
2. Login to your orkut account and navigate to the page to which you wish to subscribe.
3. Copy the URL of the above page. It should be copied completely including http://. URL can be found in the address bar (where you enter www.orkut.com) of your browser.
4. In other window/ tab, open the orkutfeeds site and in the field provided, paste the above orkut URL and click on subscribe.
5. Now, copy the URL of subscription page as said above.
6. Open your MyToday account, and navigate to a page as seen in the snap in the following way.
   a. Under My tab, click on feeds.

In RSSFWD, you need to enter your cell phone’s mail id instead of your email id.
2. Yahoo! Alerts:
This is quite simple, you need to register your mobile for Yahoo! Mobile or Yahoo! Messenger. Goto Yahoo! Alerts page for feeds. Enter the feed url for your orkut scrapbook and select your mobile device to receive alerts. This trick did not work for me when I used my messenger phone (Spice, Karnataka, India.) to receive alerts. My network is compatible with messenger but did not work for alerts. As we know orkut does not allow us to post images to anyone but our friends .Even if we post an image to our friend we have to go through the annoying captcha (captcha is a spam remover technique in which you have to type the distorted words from an image) .Captcha really gets on our nerve when we are posting image Greetings on New year or Christmas .Well these problems are of course not very awesome .Considering Orkut is one of the leading Social networking sites in the world .

The first thing the orkut checks when we input an image link is , That the link is a honest one or not .The honest links are those links which are provided from google services.For example if we add an embed code from myspace videos to a community thread , nothing will happen but when it comes to youtube the video will pop up because the youtube is a google service.So we need to find image hosting service of google (images from blogger ie. the links starts with 4.bp.blog…. is not a honest link - I don’t know why!).

Google’s Picture hosting site is http://picasaweb.google.com .Anything we upload on Picasa will appear on your friend’s scrap book with out asking you for Captcha .And it will appear on any community or a non friend’s Scrapbook with captcha . So if you see a nice looking Image on any site (it has to be a picture file like .gif .jpg .png .bmp etc “|.swf won’t do“)

Do the following

1. Login to Picasa with your google account -create an account if you don’t have one already .note: if you have a blog you can see your uploaded pictures to blogger there! .
2. Download your favorite smiley set on to yourcomputer .
3. Click upload on picasa select a album or create one .
